The European Commission has launched a call for proposals to support both national and transnational projects focusing on non-discrimination and Roma integration.
The call is based on the Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme (REC Programme), aimed at promoting the effective implementation of the principle of non-discrimination on the grounds of sex, racial or ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability, age or sexual orientation, and at upholding the principle of non-discrimination on the grounds provided for in Article 21 of the European Social Charter.
The programme supports activities aiming to raise awareness about, and combating, harmful stereotypes of Roma and supporting thereby their integration into mainstream society. It encourages the identification and exchange of good practices across fields of access to education, employment, healthcare or to housing as well as anti-discrimination, protection of Roma children and women and empowerment related to Roma integration. Proposals should aim to produce results with EU-wide added value.
The deadline for applications is 12 April 2016. For more information on the call and the terms and conditions, please click here.
