The European Commission encourages individuals, groups and organisations committed to the integration of refugees to share innovative services, models, products and technologies in the framework of its 2016 European Social Innovation Competition under the theme “Integrated Futures”.
Innovations can relate to any aspect of the reception and integration process, including ideas on education and skill development, employment, access to housing and health services, human rights, and community cohesion and cultural diversity.
Applications that are led by or have been co-created with refugees and migrants are particularly encouraged. The competition will help turn the most innovative ideas into real projects that have a sustainable impact. It will support the winning solutions with cash prizes in two steps: (1) in 2016, it will award 3 prizes of EUR 50,000 each to the best 3 ideas, amongst those selected as “semi-finalists”; (2) in 2017, it is expected to award 1 impact prize of 50,000 euros to the project which has achieved most results amongst the 2016 semi-finalists.
The deadline for applications is 8 April 2016 (12:00 CET).
