On the 15th of November, some people from our team joined the Open Society Foundations’ seminar titled: Which Steps Towards European Policies Against Anti-Gypsyism? The seminar aimed to explore how successful policy initiatives around education and reconciliation can be systematized and widened throughout Europe. The event confirmed how discrimination towards Roma is endemic in Europe, and how the political climate in many Member States hampers the pursuit of effective Roma inclusion in spite of positive declarations of intent. Several representatives from civil society, such as the Italian activist Dijana Pavlovic, the German Romani Rose, and the Member of the European Parliament Soraya Post gathered together with decision makers to comment on the state of play.
