public-consultationEurodiaconia is inviting all its members and partners to complete the Global Survey on Sustainability and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Global Survey seeks to collect expectations and opinions related to sustainability (including the SDGs) all around the world. It will also include an assessment of the performance of the institutions in each country. With this information, the goal is to prioritize certain topics and reaffirm the urgency for action, based on the opinion of not only private individuals but also politicians, people in the circles of business and academia, the media and civil society. The survey has started in September 2018 and will be accessible until June 2019. Results are expected to be presented in the third quarter of 2019.

The SDGs are the heart of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development adopted by all UN Member States in 2015. Together, the SDGs provide guidelines for peace and prosperity to all UN Member States. It is recognizing that strategies addressed at solving issues like poverty and deprivation go hand-in-hand with health, education, reduced inequality, and economic growth – all while protecting the environment and tackling climate change.

Eurodiaconia has and continues, to advocate in favour of the effective implementation of the SDGs at national and European level together with its members. We believe that our member’s work is already contributing to the implementation of the SDGs and the European Pillar of Social Rights, with which it goes hand in hand.
