The European Commission has released a Call for Proposals within its Internal Security Fund on the topic of radicalisation. The Internal Security Fund – Police (ISFP) is a component of the Internal Security Fund. It contributes to ensuring a high level of security in the EU and focuses on the fight against organized and cross-border crime, reinforcing cooperation between EU national law enforcement authorities and international organisations, and to enhance the EU capacity to effectively manage security-related risk and crisis. The present Call for Proposals aims at funding projects on preventing and countering radicalisation leading to violent extremism in the area of one of the following priorities:
- Increasing awareness, protecting, strengthening resilience of individuals and in particular vulnerable groups to polarisation.
- Developing targeted exit programmes enabling radicalised individuals to deradicalise and disengage and rehabilitate based on an integrated multi-agency approach
Projects must be aiming to achieve for the priority chosen one or more of the following outcome areas: strengthening polarisation detection and response, increased awareness of first-line practitioners eg police and teachers, developing concrete tools to target vulnerable groups, exit programmes for deradicalisation, disengagement and rehabilitation, and interventions in a prison or probation context for rehabilitation efforts into community in particular through local actors.
Applications are welcomed from public bodies or non-profit-making private entities. Eligible consortiums must be transnational, i.e. involving at least two entities established in two different EU Member States participating in the ISF Police AWP 2017 instrument. (All EU Member States, with the exception of United Kingdom and Denmark, are participating in the ISF Police instrument.)
The deadline for submitting proposals is the 15th March 2018.
