EU stakeholders discuss the relevance of social investment

Our policy and advocacy work is developed from the starting point of members’ experience and expertise, shared in meetings and through virtual consultation processes. The secretariat then works with members to develop policy positions and advocacy strategies to influence the social policy processes and discussions at EU level.
At the same time we also provide members with the necessary tools to engage in social policy processes at their national level, influence European policy making and network among each other to build a strong voice.
One key method of consultation is the network meetings, which also facilitate exchange of best practices and bring together the expertise of our members, partners and external experts. These cover different social themes: marginalisation and social exclusion, Roma inclusion, healthy ageing and long-term care, employment in diaconia and faith in social care. Eurodiaconia also works on various other policy areas that are discussed at EU level. Policy topics are discussed and agreed on a yearly basis by members at the Annual General Meeting.
