Last year, our Italian member Diaconia Valdese coordinated a project for volunteers named “Best Shots: ICT competencies for Volunteering and Inclusion/BeSICT”. The project took place from October 2017 until November 2018, and it was aimed at developing skills in the field of youth work and communication between volunteers, users and partner organizations.
This project addressed the needs and challenges of volunteers and organisations in sharing and reaching with effective communication tools and language the potential of volunteering projects, and it involved 2 European organizations from Italy and Spain and 5 non-European organizations from Uruguay, Argentina, Nicaragua, and India.
During the project, the volunteers were supported by partner organizations in developing a social communication strategy and creating videos about their volunteering experience. Specific training with professionals was also organised at the beginning of the project.
