At the beginning of December, our Austrian member Diakonie Österreich (Diaconia Austria) started cooperation with the supermarket chain Hofer to support disadvantaged mothers and young people in need. The financial support given by the company enables Diakonie Austria among others to start the “Mum&baby” meeting point in Linz. The meeting point offers advice and support for mothers to ensure the best well-being of the child. Mothers can ask questions to pedagogues and exchange knowledge and experience with other mothers while providing play options for children. Specifically disadvantaged mothers who suffer from poverty, social exclusion or illness are intended to be reached with the program.
