The “Diaconía Awards to Social Volunteering”, launched on the 29th of March will focus, as the previous editions, to reward volunteers’ work, identifying good practices and edifying examples of people engagement in social service. This event falls under the framework of the Diaconía project “Solidaridad en Red” (Solidarity Network), co-funded by the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality.
The award will be celebrated with a gala night in Madrid, next November.
The call for this edition is open to all the evangelical churches in Spain, with the wish of an active and plural participation, both from individuals and institutions. In spite of traditional humbleness and discretion of the evangelical community in advertising its work, Diaconía recalls the importance of good examples in inspiring and motivating everyone to keep on working towards a society based on solidarity and equality. The call for projects for the competition is open until the 30th of September, further information on the Gala ceremony will be available in future.
