On the 25th of January, our Italian member Diaconia Valdese (Waldensian Diaconia) hosted its first national convention titled: “Tutti a Casa” (all home).
The meeting took place in Turin, and saw the participation of more than 350 social workers, journalists and volunteers. Over the one-day event, high-level speakers and participants discussed about the challenges and opportunity of migration, admission policy and refugees in Italy.
Particular emphasis was placed on online and offline communications strategies, as well as how to face distortive narrative of migration in Europe.
During the meeting the new Diaconia Valdese’s fundraising campaign “Una borsa dà lavoro” (A bag gives work) for the integration of migrants into the labour world was launched.
