Our italian partner Diaconia Valdese are urgently looking for a female European Solidarity Corps volunteer aged between 18 and 30 to be involved in a community center in Milan, where she will work for the inclusion and integration of refugees and asylum seekers.
The volunteer will be involved in a very dynamic environment, in a service where he will experiment the multicultural and intercultural dimension of urban areas in Italy.
The community center is a place where people in need can address the staff to get support. The center also organize activities for the community, such as workshops, events, discussion, movies, etc.. The volunteer will be involved in a very dynamic environment, in a service where he will experiment the multicultural and intercultural dimension of urban areas in Italy.
The volunteer will live in the “Sentiero” Social Housing, in the Lambrate neighborhood (just outside the city center). This place promotes coexistence of different social categories fostering the interaction and the creation of new solidarity contacts between the beneficiaries. The place hosts at the moment 12 vulnerable adults. The volunteer will share the apartment with a student (male). The accommodation is a studio flat, provided with all the comfort needed and wifi connection. The food will be provided by the Social Housing (every month extra money will be given to the volunteer).
The project do not requires any special skills, expertise or previous experience, the volunteers has only to be motivated, interested in the project, willing to challenge himself and get out of the comfort zone. The volunteer need to be ready to learn and start a process of change.
