The European Commission released a study about a pilot project on promoting protection of the right to housing and homelessness prevention in the context of housing evictions, particularly focusing on evictions from primary residencies. The study analyses data and developments of housing evictions in different EU countries, including the reasons and impacts of such evictions and the link to homelessness. In addition, policies and measures of member states are reviewed, analysing in how far they can prevent evictions and enable early interventions. Based on the findings of the study, recommendations are given as to how to ensure the protection of right to housing and to prevent homelessness and evictions in the first place.
