Call for Proposals funded by The King Baudouin Foundation
The King Baudouin Foundation’s mission is to contribute to a better society in Belgium, in Europe and in the world. The Foundation is an actor for change and innovation in Belgium and Europe, serving the public interest and increasing social cohesion. It seeks to maximise its impact by improving skills in organisations and for individuals. It also stimulates effective philanthropy by individuals and corporations. The Foundation’s most important values are integrity and transparency, promoting solidarity, respect for diversity, pluralism, and independence.
The King Baudouin Foundation launched a call for proposal named “Sofina Covid Solidarity Fund”.
In line with the aspirations of its stakeholders and the company’s strategic direction, the Sofina Covid Solidarity Fund wishes to address the adverse consequences of the global Covid-19 pandemic on two key issues related to its focus sectors: specific challenges in healthcare systems and services and the digital gap in education.

The Fund will be active for 2 years (Start 31/08/2020 Submit until 30/06/2022). Initiatives or projects that could be supported by the Sofina Covid Solidarity Fund can be entered at any time within the limits of available funds. Geographical Focus: Western-Europe, India, and Singapore. The minimum amount of awarded budget is €500,000.

Call for Proposals funded by The Volant Trust
The Volant Trust was established to work to alleviate social deprivation, with a particular emphasis on supporting women, children, and young people at risk. The Volant Trust is a grant-making trust, which primarily helps fund charitable organisations and projects based in UK working to alleviate social deprivation, particularly concerned with women, children and young people.
The Volant Charitable Trust is committed to other work that includes international projects, the support of single parents, and more recently, charities assisting groups impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic in the UK and Internationally.
Two means to receive the funds:
Open Grants Programme: The Volant Charitable Trust is committed to works that includes international projects. Area of interests:
- Women: Victims of sexual abuse, rape, domestic violence, and those working in the sex industry; care for young mothers and those affected by postnatal depression, isolated and lone parents; community support for black and minority ethnic women and asylum seekers; support services for women prisoners and their families.
- Children and young people: Counselling, support services and outreach projects for those who are disadvantaged or deemed to be at risk through neglect, emotional and physical abuse, alcohol or drug misuse.
- Poverty and deprivation: Mental health projects for women and children; support for vulnerable families; promotion of healthy eating for families in areas of extreme deprivation.
Geographic focus: UK and international. The maximum grant awarded is of £15,000 per year. There is no deadline for the submission of application.
Covid-19 Response Fund: charities assisting groups impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic in the UK and Internationally.
- Covid-19: response from charities or their projects demonstrating a strong focus on alleviating social deprivation and helping vulnerable groups who have been particularly impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Geographic focus: UK and international. The funding programme which makes multi-year awards (for up to three years) is of £15,000 or less per annum. The deadline is the 31st of July 2021;
