As part of the EU Alliance for Investing in Children, Eurodiaconia co-signed a statement on the necessity that the Post 2020 Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) must invest in Children and aim to end child poverty.
Today, 25 million children are estimated to be living in or at risk of poverty or social exclusion in the EU. Growing up in poverty can negatively affect children’s opportunities for the rest of their lives, with far-reaching consequences – for instance, on their future health, education, and participation in the labour market and society. With this joint statement we are demanding the EU institutions and its Members States to make ending poverty and social exclusion in Europe a clear and visible priority for the next MFF.
The EU Alliance for Investing in Children brings together over than 20 European networks committed to end child poverty and to promote child well-being through Europe. To know more about the Alliance, please visit its website.
