Today, Eurodiaconia published its messages to boost social progress through public procurement in Europe.
As the implementation of new public procurement rules is gaining steam, Eurodiaconia wishes to ensure that public procurement practice realises the full positive impact of quality, sustainable social services on people’s lives. As acknowledged by the Public Procurement Package released last October, tapping such a potential call for a more strategic approach to public procurement. For this reason, Eurodiaconia shared with Commissioner Elżbieta Bieńkowska and other prominent EU policy makers a number of concerns and some proposals to boost social progress in Europe through public procurement. Our messages accompany our response to the targeted Consultation on the scope and structure of a Commission guide on socially responsible public procurement.
