On 14-15 November, over 20 participants from Eurodiaconia member organizations and partners gathered at Carlos III. University of Madrid to discuss youth inclusion with particular focus on the role that social entrepreneurship can play towards that aim. The first day was marked by presentations on youth unemployment in Spain from different angles and by a study visit to an artist collective dedicated to research, cultural and environmental creation working with young people and volunteers. The second day started off with a keynote lecture on social entrepreneurship as a lever for youth unemployment, followed by presentations of successful social entrepreneurship projects by Eurodiaconia members from Czech Republic, Italy, the United Kingdom and Finland. With a Eurodiaconia presentation on EU funding possibilities for national and international youth projects the event ended.
The conference was organized by Eurodiaconia and hosted by its two Spanish members -Diaconia Spain and the Spanish Evangelical Church- in Madrid.
