First Call
Call for projects supporting queer refugees and migrants in Germany
The Lesbian and Gay Association of Germany, the Magnus Hirschfeld Foundation and the Robert Bosch Foundation will support projects that enable and strengthen the empowerment as well as social and political participation for LGBTIQ with a refugee and/or migration background. Therefore, in addition to financial support, the funding programme also focuses on the exchange of information between the funded projects. It is aimed at non-profit organisations that operate outside the major metropolitan areas in Germany.
Queer refugees and LGBTIQ people with a migration background need information about specific offers in the area, about accommodation options, about their rights in the asylum procedure, opportunities in professional life, their rights and obligations in society. In order to make offers more visible, to network, and thus to provide access to them for more people, the projects should provide targeted support outside the metropolitan areas, which, for example:
- Consultation
- Language courses
- Job placement
- Accommodation
- Shelters
- Groups
- Networking
- Workshops
for LGBTIQ people with a refugee and/or migration background. Both new individual projects and the further development of existing structures are eligible for funding.
Between EUR 13,000.00 and EUR 20,000.00 can be funded once per organisation or project.
The project duration is usually scheduled to start on 01.06.2024 and run for 8 months until 31.01.2025.
The deadline for submission is the 31st of March 2024.
