The Visegrad Fund is offering funding for organizations from the four Visegrad countries, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic (V4) with the aim of fostering regional cooperation between the V4 countries and projects advancing innovativeness and sustainability in Central and Eastern Europe. The fund supports civil society organizations, public institutions and local governments as well as educational and research institutions in the Visegrad region and beyond.
Any organization worldwide is eligible to apply with a project proposal involving participation of project partners from at least three of the V4 countries. The active involvement of partners from 3 V4 countries is therefore a prerequisite for applying.
The eligible projects are intended to be focused on V4 regional cooperation, advancement of innovativeness and sustainability in Central and Eastern Europe in one of our seven focus areas:
- Social development
- Education and capacity building
- Culture and common identity
- Innovation, R&D, entrepreneurship
- Democratic values and the media
- Public policy and institutional partnerships
- Regional development, environment and tourism
The Fund also offers Visegrad+ Grants, to support projects which contribute to the democratization and transformation processes in selected countries and regions, especially non-EU member states in the Western Balkans and the Eastern Partnership countries.
Amounts for both Visegrad and Visegrad+ Grants vary depending on the size and scope of the project. The average grant support for supported projects in 2016 was around €20,000.
