On 2-4 June 2015, the Nordic City Missions came together in Copenhagen for the Nordic City Missions Conference titled “The City Space”, hosted by Kirkens Koshaer. Representatives from City Missions spoke about their work and the theme was discussed by politicians, architects and social workers. One output from the meeting was a joint statement by the Nordic City Missions in which the organisations expressed the wish to work more collaboratively by sharing experiences and mutual initiatives relevant to the Nordic countries and at the EU level. This will be achieved through the following activities:
- Coordinated actions across the Nordic countries
- Joint hearings facilitated by Eurodiaconia
- Campaigns across the countries
The joint hearing in the European Parliament for Nordic City Missions facilitated by Eurodiaconia is planned for 2016. To read the full statement, please click here.
