COVID-19 has greatly impacted the lives of people across Europe, especially millions who use and provide social services daily. Social services providers had to move quickly to adjust and continue providing services during the crisis. Social workers had to work under immense pressure, at the same time facing a threat to the financial sustainability to ensure continuity of the sector. Eurodiaconia has been actively advocating for measures to quickly address the gaps created by COVID-19 through the proposed Recovery Plan and the revised Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF).
Eurodiaconia together with its members recently joined its voice with 11 other partners to call for more support, action, and recognition for social services from the European Union.
