Last May, our Danish member Kofoeds Skole was awarded with the HK Hovedstaden Årets Anker Award.
The Årets Anker Award is organised once a year by trade union HK, and it is designed to recognise Danish’s best socially oriented organisations or individuals. It recognises organisations and individuals with an indisputable track record of success in doing something special for the labour market and continuously improving society.
With 275,000 members, HK is Denmark’s largest union for salaried employees. Its members work within the retail sector and as administrative staff within both the public and the private sectors.
The ceremony was hosted at HK Headquarter, and was attended by Copenhagen Mayor, Frank Jensen, Årets Anker Responsible Robert Olsen and IT consultant Lisa Wandel.
Receiving the prize accompanied by 30,000 kr (about 4,000 Euro), Kofoeds Skole Director Robert Olsen expressed his gratitude for the prize and the dedications of the many people working for Kofoeds Skole.
More than 4,000 people from 100 different nationalities are assisted everyday by Kofoeds Skole. That includes legal and social advice for vulnerable people, training courses for youth, vocational training workshops for unemployed people, and homeless services.
