Our member in Spain, Diaconía España (Diaconia Spain) is running an online course on Volunteer Management.
The online course, intended for practitioners, professionals and volunteers themselves working in the not-for-profit sector, seeks to provide participants with the skills relating to the management of volunteers and human resources in the field of social action.
The objectives of the course are to analyse the various phases involved in the process of volunteer management, and to adapt volunteer engagement to the organisation and social environment in which they are working. The training seeks to bring together a group of people from across Spain working in diverse organisations and projects, and to establish new communication channels that enable group work, experiencing sharing and information exchange between participants. It is available for volunteers or paid employees of NGOs with basic experience working with volunteers or volunteer programmes.
The course will last for a period of two months beginning on the 20th September 2017 for a maximum of 20 people. The price of the course stands at 80€ for members of Diaconía España, and 90€ for non-members.
Following the course, which is set to last approximately 60 hours in total, participants will receive a final evaluation and will be issued with a ‘Volunteer Management Course’ Diploma from the Diaconía España school.
