The DWI (Diakonie-Wissenschaftliches Institut) of the University of Heidelberg has recently published its yearbook with contributions by students, lecturers, alumni, and colleagues.
The current yearbook contains a variety of diaconal contributions as well as short summaries of dissertations and numerous theses. For instance, what are the current challenges facing Diaconia and the Church in the face of social change? How is the relationship between Diaconia and the Church?
Due to the declining membership of the Protestant and Catholic churches as well as the increasing pluralization, the inter-religious opening of Diaconia – both in terms of customer contact to the outside world and to the workforce inside – is increasingly a necessity.
Many more exciting texts can be found in this yearbook (available only in German), ideal to allow everyone interested to get a comprehensive insight into Diaconia science in research and teaching.
