On 17 June 2015, Eurodiaconia participated in a consultation meeting on the Labour Mobility Package organised by DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion of the European Commission.
The Labour Mobility Package aims at facilitating access of EU mobile citizens to the labour market and to social protection. To achieve this objective, the package may include a possible revision of the EU social security coordination Regulations (Regulations 883/20043 and 987/20104) and a targeted review of the Posting of Workers Directive (Directive 96/71/EC5).
Our response to this consultation reports some concrete barriers faced by users supported by Eurodiaconia members, and focuses on recommendations (applicable to the revision of the social security coordination Regulations) to prevent destitution of vulnerable EU mobile citizens.
