Last week, the European Commission published the 2019 Annual Work Programme for the Rights, Equalities and Citizenship (REC) programme. The programme will continue to finance activities developed by NGOs, public authorities, universities and other organisations, and will aim to protect rights and promoting non-discrimination.
In 2019 the REC programme will mainly focus on consoling results and investing in recurring activities, and to a smaller extent, new ones. The calls for proposals for action and operating grants will cover the following topics:
- Violence against children, young people and women;
- Rights of the child and child-friendly justice;
- Racism, xenophobia, homophobia and other forms of intolerance;
- Hate speech online;
- Work-life balance for men and women – a better sharing of care;
- Rights of persons with disabilities.
The total budget for the REC Programme in 2019 will be of EUR 64.771.000. The calls for proposals for actions grants are expected to be published by the 15th January 2019 on the new EC Funding & Tender Opportunities portal.
