The Open Society Foundation’s Roma Initiatives Office is offering short term action grants under its ‘Opportunity Fund’ to promote structural change for the benefit of Roma or respond to anti-Roma events and trends.
The Call for Proposals invites Roma and pro-Roma organizations, and nonformal groups, networks, or individuals from Albania, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, and Spain to apply for urgent-action grants of up to $15,000.
.
The Open Society Foundations‘ Opportunity Fund supports urgent, action-focused grants to provide short-term support to the field at times when an unforeseen social or political event requires fast action or the adaptation of approaches.
.
To be eligible for the urgent-action grants, actions should fulfil the following criteria and be:
- In response to a specific event, social situation, or an opportunity that could not have been predicted and that requires immediate reaction.
- Designed with a perspective for change in policies, practices, or public discourse in the long term, according to new needs or circumstances.
- Roma-centered, and aimed at benefitting Roma from the policy change targeted with the action.
- Located in Albania, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, or Spain.
Applications to be funded this year will be accepted until the 15th October 2017. For more information on eligible activities, the application procedure and the specific priorities of this call, you can consult the Opportunity Fund’s website.
