On 5 November, our member Armenia Round Table Foundation (ART) organised the graduation ceremony for 50 Syrians in Armenia learning crafts in the Art House training center.
The event brought together cooperating partners – representatives of ART, “Aleppo” and Art House training center – and all the trainees who have obtained the professional qualification of Hairdressers/Make-Up/Stylists; Cooks, preparation and decoration of cakes, table Design; as well as Sewing and Modeling. These vocational trainings were organised within the scope of “Improving Livelihoods of Syrian Refugees in Armenia”, a project funded by the German Foundation “Kirche in Not” in an effort to improve livelihood and employment opportunities of Syrian women and the youth.
Out of fifty trainees, twelve are still attending the courses of Hairdressers, Cooks and Preparation/Decoration of Cakes. Among those who graduated, the majority has found a job and provides private services in order to improve families’ budgets. Thanks to the diligent and professional work of all educators of the center, all the trainees enter the labour market equipped with good starting skills in the most demanding professions not only in Armenia, but worldwide.
