The 2019 Justice Annual Work Programme has been recently published by the European Commission. The programme will continue to finance projects that directly contribute to the Commission’s priority “An area of Justice and Fundamental Rights Based on Mutual Trust”.
The activities to be financed in 2019 – mainly recurring activities, and to a smaller extent, also new ones – will have to be carried out by public authorities, universities, NGOs and other organisations. The activities shall also meet the Commission’s priorities for these areas such as:
- Promoting judicial cooperation in civil and criminal matters;
- Judicial training covering civil law, criminal law or fundamental rights;
- Enhancing the rights of persons suspected or accused of crime and the rights of victims of crime;
- EU drugs policy.
The total budget for the Justice Programme in 2019 will be of EUR 43.675.000. The calls for proposals for actions grants are expected to be published by the 15th January 2019 on the new EC Funding & Tender Opportunities portal.
