For over 45 years, the King Baudouin Foundation has been acting for the common good together with numerous partners, experts and donors. Their activities aim to foster sustainable and positive change in society, in Belgium, Europe and around the world.
This third call for projects will focus on the problems and mental health issues faced by displaced individuals and vulnerable young people (ages 15 to 24). Nearly every area of people’s life have been impacted by the coronavirus epidemic and the enormous steps made to stop its spread. Stress in the home, social isolation, increasing abuse, interrupted education, and worry about the future all worsen young people’s emotional problems at crucial junctures in their emotional growth. This is especially true for teenagers and young adults who are experiencing challenges related to, among other things, their ethnic origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression, disability, and social and economic circumstances.
Through this Call for Projects, UCB wants to dedicate resources to support the mental health of vulnerable young people in the countries where UCB operates. More specifically, they will provide funding to organizations that design, implement and evaluate impact-driven projects and initiatives to improve the mental health of young people from the most vulnerable communities including racial and ethnic minorities, refugees and asylum seekers, those with disabilities and certain health conditions, and those who are socio-economically disadvantaged.
The Call for Projects is intended for organizations only (local, national or international organizations applying for support of local initiatives), individuals cannot apply for funding. For-profit, commercial organizations, hospitals and public bodies are also excluded from funding. This Call for Projects targets existing programs and services, as well as new projects and initiatives, outside of UCB’s therapeutic areas. Organizations need to be based within the countries where UCB has an office.
Deadline: 30/06/2022
