Early last month, some representatives from our member The Salvation Army EU Affairs Office, together with the International Social Justice Commission (ISJC) met in New York City for the session of the United Nations’ Commission on the Status of Women. The 2017 priority theme of the Commission was: ‘Women’s economic empowerment in the changing world of work. Review theme: Challenges and achievements in the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals for women and girls.’
Major Mike Stannett, Head of The Salvation Army EU Affairs Office, reflects in a detailed report on the opportunities for the Army in Europe in regards to these issues, as well as the ideas that can be picked up and flagged up at EU level.
